In addition to being a clinical professor at the Uniformed Services University in Washington, D.C., he was an assistant professor at the University of Tennessee in Memphis and Chief of Otolaryngology at the Veterans Medical Center in Memphis.  His desire to train fellows in the sub-specialty of Head and Neck Surgery led him back to Indiana in 1991 when he joined Head and Neck Surgery Associates.  Since then he has been the Program Director of more than 25 fellows trained under his guidance.  He has lectured both locally and nationally and has written many papers and published book chapters.  Sinus and allergy and head and neck surgery have been the focus of his practice.  He developed the Freeman frontal sinus stent that is used around the world.  Dr. Freeman is uniquely qualified being board certified in Otolaryngology/ Head and Neck Surgery, Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and a certified fellow in Otolaryngic Allergy and is an active member in many medical societies locally and nationally.

In addition to general adult and pediatric ears, nose and throat he is considered the expert in sinus and allergy disease, head and neck surgery and reconstructive surgery.  He is one of the few Indiana doctors who offers the minimally-invasive balloon dilatation of the sinuses. Dr. Freeman is available for consultation at the Carmel and Avon offices.
His favorite past-times are boating, sailing and photography, which he shares with his wife, 4 children and grandchild in the Indianapolis area.
